I Need Help With This Site!
I'm asking anyone who is a fan of this site to become a co-writer for
it. I have a new job that will take away from the amount of time I can
put into this website. I'm probably only going to have time for a
couple of articles a week, which is hardly enough to keep visitors
coming back. All you would have to do is e-mail me the article and I
would be able to post it and give you credit for it.
Have your opinion heard! A different viewpoint would be great for
this site. Please e-mail me if your interested. My e-mail address is

Hamlin Signs, Go Jerry!
Today Ken Hamlin signed a 1 yr/2.5 mil contract. This was a great
move by Jerry Jones. All we do is bash him, but moves like this that
he makes show you he does know what he's doing at least part of
the time.
Hamlin isn't a slam dunk answer at free safety. He is more of an
in-the-box safety which isn't what we really need. I will tell you
though that he is a major upgrade over Pat Watkins and Keith
Davis. A Williams/Hamlin combo will give up some big pass plays,
but they will be the hardest hitting duo in the league. And, since the
deal is so small, it doesn't keep us from letting Watkins start or even
drafting a safety in the 1st round if we choose. It is a low risk, high
reward signing.
The Ken Hamlin of 2006 isn't the same player we saw tearing it up
in his first 2.5 seasons. After the 2004 season I would have labeled
as one of the top two or three young safeties in football. Six games
into the 2005 season Hamlin got caught up in a street fight in which
he was struck by a street sign fracturing his skull.
I don't really know how well he played last season, but judging by
how he was still on the market this late in free agency means he
played pretty bad. Add that to the fact that the Seahawks signed
Brian Russell and Deon Grant instead of re-signing Hamlin who is
but 25 years old.
Hopefully with another off-season to recover from the injury he will
be back at 100%. If we get the old Ken Hamlin we will have a great
safety duo, because while Hamlin is more an enforcer, he was
anything but a liability in coverage his first two seasons. Coverage
wasn't his strong suit, but he could definitely hold his own.
This is just another intriguing storyline to watch for between now
and the start of next season. I love the move no matter how it turns
out because Jerry is trying and that is all you can really do. This
likely wraps up the majority of what was a very productive free
agency period. Now we can get ready for the draft.
Full 1st Round Mock Draft
This is my first version of my full 32 team mock draft. I hope to
have three rounds done by draft time. I don't see to many holes in
this list. Every pick makes sense to me. The only guy who isn't on
here is Greg Olsen. He will probably be a good pick, but I don't
know where to put him. Many have him going to Carolina at #14,
but that is a reach. After Carolina and Green Bay, I don't see a
team that really needs a tight end.
