I Need Help With This Site!
I'm asking anyone who is a fan of this site to become a co-writer for
it. I have a new job that will take away from the amount of time I can
put into this website. I'm probably only going to have time for a
couple of articles a week, which is hardly enough to keep visitors
coming back. All you would have to do is e-mail me the article and I
would be able to post it and give you credit for it.
Have your opinion heard! A different viewpoint would be great for
this site. Please e-mail me if your interested. My e-mail address is

Cowboy's Trivia Question of the Week!
What legendary coach did Tom Landry tutor under?
Last Week's Answer: Oklahoma

Draft Targets: Outside Linebacker
Even after spending two firsts and a second on linebackers, we still
need more edge rushers. We are in decent shape if Greg Ellis
comes back, but that is anything but a certainty. Outside linebacker
will undoubtedly be on of the top priorities heading into the draft.
I will say that the play of Greg Ellis changed my opinion of how
athletic you have to be to play outside linebacker in our scheme. I
used to think you had to be an amazing athlete like Ware, but Ellis
showed that you don't. Greg Ellis is a good pass rusher because of
his size, strength, and technique. He isn't going to overpower
someone with his speed. He showed me that pretty much any DE in
this draft could play OLB, so don't be totally surprised if we took
someone like Tim Crowder or Charles Johnson if they fall to us even
though they aren't considered ideal OLB prospects.
Spencer and Moss are guys we would probably have to draft with
out first pick. I see both of them going between 20 and 35. The
best value is in Round 2 where you should have Abiamiri, Woodley
or Moses available. Bazuin would be a great 3rd round pick, while
the other guys should all be 2nd day picks.
1. Anthony Spencer 6'3 261 4.73 Purdue
Great motor guy who is always around the action. Very productive
and he plays the run pretty well for his size. Is athletic enough to
get the job done, but he isn't in the same category a DeMarcus
Ware or Manny Lawson.
2. Jarvis Moss 6'7 250 4.70 Florida
Moss is a great speed rusher. He is nearly impossible to block off
the edge. He has great athleticism that will allow him to make the
transition to 3-4 OLB. He lacks strength and he can be a liability
against the run though. Raw.
3. Victor Abiamiri 6'4 267 4.80 Notre Dame
A great athlete with long arms. Good size and strength. Plays the
run well. Good intangibles and production. He is probably looked
at as more of a 4-3 end, but he is athletic enough to play linebacker
in our defense.
4. LaMarr Woodley 6'2 266 4.79 Michigan
Great quickness off the snap. Very productive with experience
playing linebacker. Great motor. A natural pass rusher. Does a
good job versus the run. He isn't the most athletic guy. He won't
look amazing in coverage. Some don't think he is athletic enough to
play 3-4 OLB, but that is bull because I've seen Greg Ellis play it
and he is a lot less athletic than Woodley.
5. Quentin Moses 6'5 261 4.85 Georgia
A natural athlete and pass rusher. An amazing edge rusher who
was really productive his junior season. Does a good job dropping
into coverage despite lack of timed speed. Good intangibles. Didn't
do much is senior season. Was the top rated senior player entering
the 2006 season.
6. Dan Bazuin 6'3 266 4.77 Central Michigan
An amazing first step. Insane production. He has a motor that
never stops. Great football instincts. He isn't a great athlete,
probably comparable to Woodley. He isn't overly stout against the
run. Poor competition.
7. Brian Robison 6'3 259 4.67 Texas
Good size and speed. Has a good motor and was fairly productive.
Not a dynamic pass rusher. Isn't as athletic as his computer
numbers say. Struggles against the run.
8. Jacob Ford 6'3 249 4.65 Central Arkansas
Good size and athleticism. A natural pass rusher with a bunch of
upside. Needs to get stronger. Wasn't that productive against
inferior competition.
9. Victor DeGrate 6'3 249 4.77 Oklahoma St.
Aggressive and always around the action. Productive pass rusher.
A fairly good athlete. Strength is an issue as he is a liability against
the run.
10. Antwan Applewhite 6'3 250 4.73 San Diego St.
Very athletic. Good speed and agility. Nice intangibles and
production. Lacks strength and the ability to shed blocks.
NFL Draft Sleepers
This is my final installment on my little draft series. I have compiled
a list of sleepers. We might draft some players pretty high in the
draft that most fans have never heard of. I knew a little bit about
Jason Hatcher last season, but the average fan probably had no
idea who he was. This list is by no means complete. Its impossible
to dig up every sleeper, because the definition of a sleeper is a
guy nobody knows much about so I'm sure I'll miss some quality
players. I'm also not including guys that cracked my top 10
rankings at the positions.
