Cowboy's
Trivia
Question of
the Week!

Who is the oldest
player on the
Cowboys' roster?

Last Week's Answer:

Danny White
 Cowboys Send 11 To Hawaii

Cowboys will be everywhere at this February's Pro Bowl.  A record
tying eleven players were sent.  This is a testament to the great
season the team is having as well as the tremendous fan support
the team receives.

On offense Tony Romo, Marion Barber, Jason Witten, Terrell
Owens, Flozell Adams, Leonard Davis, and Andre Gurode were
selected.  In case you are counting, that is seven of a possible
eleven players on offense.

Romo, Witten, and Owens were no brainers as all are having
record setting seasons.  Marion Barber is questionable since he is
only 7th in the NFC in rushing.  His selection shows however that
fans, coaches, and players have a lot of respect for him even if he
is a part-time player.  He definitely got plenty of fan votes, but I
opposing players and coaches seem to have a lot of respect for the
guy.  The three offensive lineman are all having great seasons.
We probably have the best offensive line in football and all three of
those guys have been outstanding.  Leonard Davis was a minor
surprise, but Gurode and Adams have played better than they did
last season when each went to Hawaii.

We had three players selected on defense.  DeMarcus Ware was a
lock.  Terence Newman has been snubbed before.  This hasn't
been his best season, but his four interceptions looked good to
voters.  A Dallas safety was also selected and I'm happy to say it
was Ken Hamlin.  I would have been angry to see Roy Williams go
again when he hasn't played nearly as well.  Roy still might go since
Sean Taylor is one of the NFC safeties, but at least a deserving
Hamlin gets to go to.

Nick Folk had his tremendous rookie season capped by a Pro Bowl
selection.  He has been superb and I hope he can be our kicker for
the next ten years.

It is nice to see all of these guys getting rewarded for their hard
work although these Pro Bowl selections are just going to make
Barber, Newman, and Hamlin that much more expensive to re-sign.

Still, Thanks to all you Cowboys fans that voted and helped get our
guys in.
           Tim's Talk:  Week 16

1.  Sorry for the delay on the talk.  Had computer-internet issues last
week so I will talk about the Lions and the Eagles game.  Oh boy.  I
said all along that this teams fate was going to depend on how well
this team did in December because that is where the struggles
begin.  Well they seemed to be starting.  We had to come back on
the road against a bad Lions team and could not stop their offense
and a week later the offense decides to take a vacation.  Oh boy.
And now boys you have no one to blame but yourselves.  When Bill
Parcells left, you blamed him for being old school and to set in his
ways to adapt and adjust down the stretch and for being to tough in
practice saying  that was the reason for wearing down so late in the
year?  No more.  Now that you have Mr. Fix it in charge you have no
one to blame but yourselves.  Better step it up because you have
two games on the road and I know the Boys do not want to go to
Lambeau in January.

2.  What was up with Tony Romo?  He just could not connect with
the receivers.  Every pass seemed not to be hitting the mark.  Was it
the thumb.  Maybe.  But he had those problems before the injury
happened as well.  I know they say not to pull Romo for Brad
Johnson because if Tony could still throw let him play.  But this is the
same argument I made earlier in the year for sitting Terence
Newman, a healthy Brad Johnson might have been more effective
than a hurt Tony Romo.  If his injury affected his play, the coaches
should have pulled him.

3.  I am sorry but I am not buying into the Jessica Simpson
argument.  Are you serious?  You think Tony Romo is going to be
distracted because his girlfriend is there?  And what is up with the
folks at Fox having to cut to a shot of Simpson every so often.
Stupid.  I don’t watch Patriots games but I doubt Bridget Monynahan
and Gisele Bundchen get significant airtime when Brady was dating
them.  And I don’t remember PTI or Sportscenter doing cover stories
on when Brady and Moynahan announced that they were expecting
after he broken up with her and started dating Bundchen.  Granted,
Brady has left his mark and Romo is just getting started plus he is
quarterbacking the Cowboys and not some scrub team.  I don’t
recall Troy Aikman getting any flack for dating Sandra Bullock,
Janine Turner or Lorrie Morgan during his time as QB of the Boys.
Please.  The only thing that would be distracting about this is Romo
knows that it will be mentioned every time she goes to a game or
not.  That is what happens when a celebrity dates a celebrity or
when sports mixes it up with Hollywood.  He knows it will be talked
about and has to deal with that.  But the only thing more ridiculous is
the coverage of this.

4.  All right lets get to TO.  I said at the beginning of the year that
there would be a TO controversy at some point during the season
and I had kind of backed off on that the last few weeks but now I
think I am starting to look like a genius.  I can just sense the blood
boiling by him not getting the ball quickly enough.  Let me talk to you
TO.  You think Tony Romo, Jason Garrett are seriously trying to
keep you from getting the ball?  I mean they should be fired if that is
the thinking.  Get a grip TO.  All receivers go through this.  I know
you are saying all the right things at the press conferences and stuff
but get a grip.  And Like I said at the beginning of the season, a
comment that John Madden made about that you need to get
involved early in the game or you are not as effective.  I saw that
with that dropped pass.  So Mr. Owens, you can’t be focused on the
game because you did not catch a pass in the first half?  You know
what would get me focused.  I can think of 25 million reasons but
one for sure is that you are a PROFESSIONAL football player
playing in the NFL!  Is that motivation and focus enough?  Get a grip
and back off your boy Romo and his girl Jessica?  No one has ever
been a bigger distraction to a team than you have.  You think Romo
wanted to answer questions about your suicide attempt last year?

5.  And also get off Roy Williams back.  The way people are talking
about him you think he was a dirty player.  He is not.  To compare
him with a Chuck Cecil or an Andre Waters is absurd.  The bottom
line is that Roy Williams horse collar tackle was legal for a number of
years.  And they make it illegal and impulse takes over , the
adrenaline is rushing and he forgets.  That’s all it is but the media
are vilifying him is just stupid.  Yes he needs to stop but he is not a
dirty player.  Get a grip.

6.  Bottom line is the Cowboys need to regain composure focus and
start reestablishing the running game.  Players have got to step up
with the suspension and injuries of certain players and this
upcoming game which will not be seen by me because of the stupid
NFL Network dilemma will test their character.  And how ironic that
former practice squad QB is now the starting QB fro the Panthers.
Win this game big boys or lose the conference.
