RANKINGS
NOTE:  Do to time
constraints, I'm only listing
players who would be a
good fit in our defense or
that fit our needs.
Name               Height  Weight   40 Time        College
1.  Michael Huff  6'0   204   4.34     Texas

Strengths:  Good Size.  Tremendous Speed.   Covers like a corner and is probably the best player at
safety and corner in the draft.  Solid wrap up tackler.  Will come up and support the run.  Ballhawk who
can occupy center-field with the best of them.  The best safety prospect since Sean Taylor.

Weaknesses:  Could become more physical.  Sometimes trys to hard for the big play.  Needs to decide
on a position in the NFL and focus on it.

How He Fits:  Huff will be long gone by the time our 1st pick rolls around.  If he is somehow still available,
he would undoubtedly be selected as he is the perfect complement to Roy Williams.

2.  Jimmy Williams  6'2  213  4.47  Virginia Tech

Strengths:  Tremendous size.  Great recovery speed.  Good man cover skills.  Has fluid hips.  Can play
cornerback.  Ferocious tackler who can really bring it.  Physical and is good in press coverage.  Plenty of
upside.

Weaknesses:  Can play corner and will want a chance to at the next level.  Has questionable instincts
and ball skills.  Raw after only starting for 2 years.

How He Fits:  Tons of talent.  Would be a great option at free safety in the 1st if he agreed before hand
to play there.  Don't see that happening though.  He can be a corner in the NFL.

3.  Jason Allen  6'1  208   4.39    Tennessee

Strengths:  Great in man-man coverage.  Played corner as a senior and has some ability there.  Decent
tackler who has improved in that area the last couple of years.  One of the most talented players in the
draft.

Weaknesses:  Has some injury concerns.  Missed most of senior season.  Wants to play corner in the
pros because he can make more money.  Not as physical as you would like.

How He Fits:  Jason is a possibility in the 1st or 2nd round.  Doesn't seem like a Parcells guy and he
wants to play corner which won't happen in Dallas.  A big gamble I don't see Dallas taking if Bullocks is
still on the board.

4.  Donte Whitner  5'10  203  4.40  Ohio St.

Strengths:  Great Speed.  Has the tools to play corner.  Great blitzer.  Tough, and physical despite his
size.

Weaknesses:  Undersized for a safety.  Needs to focus on one position.  Only started for one season
and slightly raw in coverage.

How He Fits:  Whitner is a possible pick for Dallas in Round One.  Would be a great complement to Roy
Williams.

5.  Ko Simpson  6'1  209  4.45  S. Carolina

Strengths:  Great all-around safety prospect.  Could play either safety spot.  Tough player who can lay
the wood as well as cover a wide receiver.  Has a definite nose for the football.

Weaknesses:  Doesn’t have elite timed speed.  Only played for two years although he is 23 years old.
Good in all areas but doesn’t really stand out in any one area.

How He Fits:  Simpson is a possibility late in Round Two.  He would be a good complement to Roy as
well as being versatile enough to play at SS if Roy got hurt.

6.  Daniel Bullocks  6'1  212  4.38  Nebraska

Strengths:  Bullocks is a good all-round safety.  Three years starter and team captain.  Good
intangibles.  Good speed and mobility.  Knack for making the interception.  Can support the run.

Weaknesses:  Not real natural in man coverage.  Would probably do best in a Cover 2 scheme.  Doesn’
t have the upside that some of the other safeties have.

How He Fits:  I think Bullocks would be the perfect fit for Dallas at FS in the 2nd Round.  He is a good all-
around safety who would be a major upgrade in coverage.  He can also support the run which is huge for
Bill.

7.  Pat Watkins  6'5 212   4.42    Florida St.

Strengths:  Freakish height and leaping ablilty.  Great speed.  Good range.  Smart with good
intangibles.  Tons of upside.

Weaknesses:  Height might hurt his ability to recover at the next level.  Not very physical, although he
isn't a bad tackler.  Only started for 2 years.  Inconsistent.  Not very natural in man coverage.

How He Fits:  Possible option in the 3rd round.  Very intriguing, but you probably wouldn't him starting
from Day 1, and that is what whoever we draft will do.

8.  Roman Harper  5'11 198  4.48   Alabama

Strengths:  Team leader with top intangibles.  The kind of guy you want on your team.  Great in run
support.  Always seems to be around the action.  Tons of experience and provides consistency on a play
to play basis.

Weaknesses:  Doesn't have great speed.  Needs to bulk up and get stronger.  Doesn't have much
range. Can't cover wide receivers in man coverage.  Not a lot of potential.

How He Fits:  A  Parcells's guy.  Limited physically, but won't make the bonehead mistake.  Possible
option in the 3rd round.  Could come in and start immediately.

9.  Anthony Smith  6'0 194  4.70    Syracuse

Strengths:  Smart.  Team leader.  Great awareness.  Solid in run support.  Tough guy who has played hurt.
Great special teams player.  Great production.  Plays faster than he is timed.

Weaknesses:  Poor timed speed.  Could do a better job in coverage.  Has limited range.  Very limited physically.

How He Fits:  Much like Harper.  Could come in and start right away, but will never be more than a role player.
Possible 2nd round pick.

10.   Marcus Hudson  6’1  194  4.55  N Carolina St.

Strengths:  Pretty good athlete.  Has fluid hips.   Looks solid in coverage.   Excellent instincts.  Experienced and
productive.  Solid against the run.

Weaknesses:  Needs to add some weight.  Timed speed is only average.  Makes too many mental mistakes for a
player with so much experience.

How He Fits:  The last of the decent free safety options.  Would be great pick in the 4th round if somehow we
haven’t already selected a safety.

11.  Charlie Peprah  5’10  206  4.68   Alabama

Strengths:  Plays much faster than he is timed.  Good in coverage.  Will support the run.  Hardworking 4 year
starter.

Weaknesses:  Has poor timed speed.  Lacks great size.  Not the greatest tackler.

How He Fits:  Solid option in the 4th round.  I don’t see how we wouldn’t already have a safety drafted by then
though.

12.  Greg Threat  6’0  196   4.50        Miami

Strengths:  Excellent athlete.  Great speed and quickness.  Tough and physical.  Decent in, and displays solid
ball skills.  Has some upside.

Weaknesses:  Inexperienced.  Needs to add weight.   Needs to do a better job in coverage.

How He Fits:  He would be a great developmental prospect, but he isn’t ready to start his rookie year which is
what we need.

13.  Antione Bethea  5’10  203  4.39      Howard

Strengths:    Excellent speed and athletic ability.  Looks great in coverage.  Great in run support.  Tons of upside.

Weaknesses:  Short.  Didn’t play against top competition.  Can be fooled easily by a QB.  Very raw and needs
lots of work.  A big-time project.

How He Fits:  In the same boat as Threat, great developmental safety, but not starting material for a few years.
