NOTE: Do to time
constraints, I'm only listing
players who would be a
good fit in our defense or
that fit our needs.
Name Height Weight 40 Time College
1. D’Brickshaw Ferguson 6’5 312 4.97 Virginia
Strengths: Good height. Can easily add more weight. Amazing feet and athletic ability. Has a huge
wingspan. Is experienced and has a very polished game.
Weaknesses: Needs to add weight and continue to get stronger. Not the best run blocker out there.
How He Fits: Top five pick.
2. Winston Justice 6’6 317 5.10 USC
Strengths: Great athlete who can really move for a man his size. Great height with long arms. Excels as a
run blocker. Experienced. Best upside of all the tackles not name D’Brickshaw.
Weaknesses: Played RT at USC so he will have to make a transition to playing LT. Has some character
isssues that led to him being suspended for the 2004 season. Technique can become sloppy, so he needs
work there.
How He Fits: An average option in the 1st. He has a lot of upside, but I would rather draft one of the other
good tackles that doesn’t have character issues. I'm not as high on him as most are.
3. Eric Winston 6’7 310 4.94 Miami
Strengths: Had a tremendous sophomore season where he completely dominated his competition. Excellent
timed speed. Amazingly quick feet. Tremendous upside. Could develop into one of the top tackles in the
league if he reverts back to his old self.
Weaknesses: Didn’t have a great season last year. Probably can't get much bigger. Coming off a knee
injury and struggled with the speed rushers. Is he the same player he was two years ago? Not very strong.
Needs to work on his run blocking.
How He Fits: Possible option in the late 1st or early 2nd. Could probably use a FS or an OLB more than him,
but we could draft him and let him develop for a few years.
4. Marcus McNeill 6’8 336 5.07 Auburn
Strengths: Tremendous size. Great athlete for a man of his dimension. Has and unbelieveable size/speed
ratio. Can really dominate in the run game. Good at getting out to the 2nd level in the run game. Good at
using his leverage to his advantage. Takes a while to get around his huge body. Physical freak with some
upside.
Weaknesses: Has some injury concerns that should be checked out further, although he was fine at the
Combine. Is almost too tall. Has some trouble with the speed rush. Could stand to add some strength. May
not be able to play LT at the next level.
How He Fits: Average option in the late 1st if we trade back and add a few picks.
4. Jonathan Scott 6’6 318 5.30 Texas
Strengths: Great athlete who excels in pass protection. Great size with the frame to get bigger. Solid
strength. Quick feet and tough to get around the edge on. Has dominated in the run game at times. Can
really get to the 2nd level in the run game. Minor flaws are all correctable. Potential stud left tackle.
Weaknesses: Timed speed is only average. Doesn’t have a mean streak. Is somewhat susceptible to the
bull rush. Needs to do some work in the weight room. Has a good size mid-section that he could stand to lose.
How He Fits: He is a decent option in the 2nd round although we don’t really need a tackle after signing
Fabini. Not a bad option as long as we fill most of our remaining needs in free agency. Would be a good
replacement option for Flozell although I would still rather have Gabe Watson or a free safety in the 1st.
6. Andrew Whitworth 6’7 334 5.15 LSU
Strengths: Big mauler in the run game. Has a mean streak. Surprised people with his speed and quickness
at the combine. Very durable and has tons of playing experience at LT. Leader on the offensive line.
Weaknesses: Struggles with speed rushers. Technique isn’t always great. Can sometimes be too
aggressive in trying to totally dominate his opponent.
How He Fits: Good player who I think is very under-rated. Not a prototypical LT, but he could play there in
the pros. I get sick of everybody saying guys like him can’t play LT. Half the tackles in the NFL play on the left
side, yet only a few in every draft can “play LT at the next level.” Decent option in the 2nd, steal in the 3rd.
7. Ryan O’Callaghan 6’7 344 5.35 Cal
Strengths: Great run blocker. Mauler with a mean streak. Tremendous size and is tough to get around.
Smart and has great instincts. Experienced and a team leader.
Weaknesses: Durability is a concerm. Not the greatest pass blocker. Doesn't move very weill. A better fit in
for the right side.
How He Fits: Another guy who could play on either side. Decent option in the 3rd round, although I would
prefer a guy who could develop into a stud left tackle, which Ryan is not. Could be a good right tackle at the
next level.
8. Daryn Colledge 6’4 298 5.05 Boise St.
Strengths: Very athletic with quick feet. Excels in pass protection. Solid build without much extra weight.
Has some physical tools to work. Could excel as a left tackle.
Weaknesses: Has trouble with bigger defenders. Doesn’t do very good as a straight line run blocker. Not
very strong. Only did 21 reps in the bench press with 225 at the Combine. Probably can’t add much mor good
weight.
How He Fits: Probably better suited to play in a zone blocking scheme like Atlanta or Denver. Decent option
in the 2nd or 3rd round as a developmental left tackle.
9. Rashad Butler 6’5 293 5.20 Miami
Strengths: Good athlete. Has great footwork. Understands the position and its nuances. Has a huge
wingspan that he knows how to use. Has a lot of upside.
Weaknesses: Doesn’t have great bulk. Raw and needs to work on his technique. Needs to get stronger.
Obviously not a great run blocker, so he will need to improve in that area. Doesn't have a mean streak.
How He Fits: Good option in the 3rd round as a developmental prospect at LT. Couldn’t start right away, but
that isn’t a problem after the signing of Fabini.
10. Jeremy Trueblood 6’8 316 5.25 BC
Strengths: Technically sound blocker. Does a good job in pass protection. Can overwhelm opponents in
running game with his size and power.
Weaknesses: Only average athleticism. A little too tall. Looks pretty stiff in his lateral movements. Has
some trouble against speed rushers.
How He Fits: Typical blue collar offensive lineman from Boston College. Not a star, but could be a solid
starting right tackle for a long time. Decent option in the 3rd round.
11. Derek Morris 6’5 327 5.15 N. Carolina St.
Strengths: Great size. Good speed. Good strength. Excellent run blocker who can take his man out of the
play. Has some tools to work with to become a good tackle.
Weaknesses: Underachiever. Struggles with the speed rush. Needs to use his hands better. Raw and
needs to refine his technique.
How He Fits: Decent option in the 4th round. Could be a good right tackle if he can improve on some of his
correctable weaknesses.
12. Paul McQuistan 6'6 312 5.07 Weber St.
Strengths: Good athlete. Handles the speed rush well. Has the frame to add some more weight. Has the
ability to play left tackle. Has some sizeable upside.
Weaknesses: Needs to get stronger. Needs to improve as a run blocker. Didn't play against top competition.
How He Fits: Sleeper whose stock is one the rise. Good option in the 5th or 6th round if available.
